Danielle (Mulligan, Class of 1985) Ventura

How glad I am about the prospect of getting in touch with some long lost friends from Timothy. It has been many years and lot's of change since we were current on each others lives. I would love to know where life has taken you, and if it's course has been as unexpected as mine!

Here we go... After graduating TCS in 1985, I was employed by Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith in Somerset , where I began my career in the Investment Banking Industry. I met my husband John, on a horseback riding excursion, with a bible study group in 1989. He was a Bank Consultant with Omega Performance Corporation, in New York City.

We were married in 1992. After 6 months of marriage, my husband sensed God calling him to become better equipped in the Word of God, and we left NJ and moved to Albany , NY , where he attended Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and earned a Master's in Divinity. During our tenure in seminary, John was called as Pastor, by Open Arms Fellowship, a brand new church in the Albany area.

Open Arms is a growing contemporary style church reaching many diverse people and families for Christ. We are amazed to see how God's plan has unfolded over the years and how very different than our plans were!

We have two children, our first, Victoria was born in 1995. She is bright, very friendly and loves people. Our second, Alexandra was born in 2000, and she is as sweet as little girls get! I've been enjoying homes-schooling, and all the excitement that comes from having two young children.

I've also kept busy working part time for the last six years from home as a bookkeeper and now office administrator of Alliance Reporting Service, a NY based court reporting agency. I enjoy rollerblading and spinning to keep in shape, and John and I play volleyball weekly for our night out.

These past years have gone quickly, and there are many challenges, but we are continually amazed by God and how experiencing a vital relationship with Him has greatly impacted the direction of our lives! Hey, I'd love to hear from you. If you feel compelled, please drop me a line at jmullig1@nycap.rr.com. Talk to you soon.

Michele (Flaming, Class of 1987) Karaska

Michele (Karaska) Flaming graduated from TCS in 1987. She and her husband Bob taught at Timothy for 2 years before becoming missionaries with Child Evangelism Fellowship in 1994. For the last 6 years or so they had been stationed on the island of Bonaire.

Just recently, however, God moved them on. In June 2002 they moved to the island of Curacao to begin ministry there. God was faithful in helping them adjust to their new surroundings. They were able to stay in an affordable apartment their first two weeks, and then moved into a house on July 1.

Their home has ample space for an office and hosting visitors. The Lord also worked out a good school situation for their boys, Joel and James. The Flamings were able to get them registered at a school only a ten-minute walk from their house. The beginning was difficult, but the boys seem to have settled well in their new school. Their daughter, Julia, is not yet old enough to attend school.

God intervened in a very special way in helping the Flamings to get a new van. They had their eye on one particular van. After hearing about their ministry work, the sellers lowered their asking price by half! The Flamings did not have the money in hand to purchase it, but the sellers let them use the van anyway until they paid it off. Bob, Michele and their three kids have not yet settled into a new church.

They hope to find a new church when the new calendar year starts. They have visited quite a few churches, and through this they have developed some contacts that will be beneficial for ministry. While serving with CEF, Bob and Michele have the goal of evangelizing children, discipling them and establishing them in local Bible believing churches.

Please pray that they would continue to serve the Lord joyfully, and that God would bring much fruit. If you would like to contact Bob and Michele, their e-mail address is: bobflaming@carib-online.net

I’ve also published a science-fiction novel entitled “Tempus Fugit.”

Michael Casey - Class of 2002

To the staff and teachers at Timothy Christian:

Hello to all my former teachers and those who made my time at Timothy memorable. This is Michael Casey and I was told by a teacher to contact you all and let you know what is going on in my life.

I am currently in Austria in a town called Millstat, about 150 KM south of Salzburg and over 300 KM west of Vienna. Here I am living in a castle called the Schloss Hereldeck. I am here with a small team of 10 and we are in charge of maintaining the castle in the winter, i.e. housekeeping and grounds work. The castle is not active during the winter, but only in the summer for conferences. It used to be the location of Calvary Chapel Bible College Europe, but the college moved to Hungary, which borders Austria on the east.

Since graduation, I have been a student at the Bible College in Hungary, and this year I was offered an internship at the school. This past semester was a huge stretching time for me as I was given responsibilities that I had not experienced. I was placed in charge of maintaining the vehicles, specifically the paper work such as insurance cards, motorway passes, registration (mind you it was in Hungarian, the third hardest language in the world!!!), with the assistance of my Hungarian friends.

I also was overseeing the children's ministry here with the missionaries' kids (4 boys and 4 girls), teaching them every Tuesday morning - doctrinal truths, not just stories. I led a small team to Kosovo on a 10 day missions trip and I truly feel a burning in my heart for some kind of future ministry there. There are other miscellaneous things I did that are not that interesting.

Each semester, our responsibilities change and for my second semester as an intern I am looking at co-teaching a class on the book of Hebrews. I am an assistant to one of the pastors here. I oversee the servant-hood program here, which involves all the students doing 8 hours a week of practical service such as dish washing, housekeeping, preparing the dining room for meals, etc.

This summer I will return to Austria and continue in my servant-hood oversight, as there will be new volunteers coming to serve for the summer conferences. I will not return to the States until sometime in September. I am learning a lot while I am here, so much so that it is beyond what a mere letter could express. The closer I come to the Light of Jesus, the more I see not that I am holy, but how wretched I am - a sinner saved by grace, and by the grace of God I have become that which I am right now.

The Lord has brought me all the way to Europe because I have a burden in my heart, as Nehemiah did, to see people come to the true knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Nehemiah was so burdened for the people that he wept, prayed and fasted for them, and that is my heart towards the missions field. 1 Samuel 12:23 says, "Far be it for me to sin against God and to cease from praying for you. . ." And this is what I ask of any who read this letter - to pray for me faithfully and to ask the Lord's guidance on my life.

Thank all of you who have had a hand on my spiritual growth at Timothy. May the Lord bless you, and keep you and make His face shine upon you; may He be gracious to you, and give you peace.

Michael Casey

Dan Kuehner - Class of 1986

Dear friends,After 9 years of friendship, 5 months of dating across the Pacific, and a whole lot of calling cards and airplane miles, Deborah Newquist and I are happy to share with you that we are engaged to be married. We became engaged in Changchun city, in the People's Republic of China, on the day after Christmas.

We will be married July 31, 2004, in Oakland. On New Year's Day, we returned together to the States for two weeks of "Whirlwind Meet the Families" in northern CA, Atlanta, NJ and PA, followed by another week of rest and the beginning of wedding planning in the Bay Area.

I am currently in Changchun. I am serving as a "foreign expert" for one semester, lecturing on biochemistry (in English!), leading a technical writing training group for Chemistry faculty, and teaching English. This is at Northeast Normal University, the same school where Deborah is presently completing her two-year Mandarin Chinese language training.

We will return to the Bay Area in early July, be married at the end of July, and become employed stateside for a year, before returning to China in August 2005 for the beginning of the fall semester there.I hope you are all well, and best wishes.Dan Kuehner Class of 1986dansky9@hotmail.com

I was married to Sean Miller whom I met while working for an Irish airline (Aer Lingus) while attending college. We were married after six years of dating on august 15th, 2004. Our first year wedding anniversary was on august 15th, 2005. However, God blessed us with our beautiful son one day prior on august 14th, 2005. His name is Sean Michael miller.

Anthony Falzone - Class of 2001

My Wife Dayna and I were married in August 2006 and found out in October 2006 that she was pregnant! We also found out that we’re having a girl!  Pending that it's still a girl at birth (you never know 100%) her name will be Addyson Marie Falzone.  Dayna is due in early June.

I have just acquired a new job at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN where I will be working as a Dialysis Patient Care Technician.  I also own my own woodworking/penmaking business and still work in construction. I am looking at paramedic school this coming fall, but that has not yet been finalized.

Dayna and I now live just down the road from Bryan College here in Dayton, TN.  We are very happy here, and God has been working greatly in our lives!  Dayna is a graduate of Bryan college and originally from Colorado Springs, CO. She currently works at a real estate office in Dayton part time.  I am still pursuing my career in firefighting and emergency medical services.

Jan (Hoopingarner, class of 1986) Rhea

I graduated from the University of Delaware in 2000, married my husband Brian in 2001 and had a daughter, Caris, on July 21, 2006. We have been living in Wilmore, Kentucky and attending Asbury Theological Seminary for almost five years. I graduated with a Masters in Pastoral Counseling.  My husband is finishing up two Masters Degrees and is a part-time pastor. We'll be moving in the summer of 2007 but don't know where yet.

Jan (Grooms, Class of 1984) and Dave Carbeck, class of 1983

My husband Dave (Class of 1983) and I were not able to come for the Alumni Reunion Banquet on March 24, 2007.  I have very fond memories of two of the people who were honored that night: Mr. Keller and Miss Storsberg.  They both had a huge impact on my life and the life of my husband.

Mr. Keller led by example with a group of service-minded kids with weekly nursing home visits to Hartwick Nursing Home.  We spent many hours visiting the same people and helping them with many different types of things to show the love of Jesus to them.  Miss Storsberg spent many hours outside of the classroom involved in the lives of her students.  We knew she really cared about more then the grades we made in her Bible classes.

Thanks to Mr. Keller and Miss Storsberg for all you do to represent the legacy of TCS.

Brian Bially

I have been accepted to UMDNJ, New Jersey Dental School and University of Louisville School of Dentistry. I will be attending UMDNJ as a member of the class of 2011.

I have been working in the financial industry for the past 8 years in customer service, operations and now as a Compliance Consultant with MetLife. I decided to pursue dentistry soon after graduating from Nyack College, ADCP in 2003. Graduating with a BS in Organizational Management, I took my science prerequisites (1 year each of Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics and Biology and 1 semester of Biochemistry) at Rutgers, Kean and Middlesex County College and applied to several dental schools this past August.

I ask everyone to keep my wife and me in your prayers. The next 4 years are going to be tough but we know that hard work and faith will get us through it.

Regards,

She has filled our lives with so much joy and happiness!   She is such a blessing and we are so thankful to God for giving us such an amazing family!

Michelle (Cameron, class of '89) White

Hi everyone! It was exciting to visit the campus recently that embraced me almost 20 years ago when I first came to the U.S. from the island of Jamaica. The warm smiles, embraces and the voices of comfort made the transition easy for me and my sisters. When our mom passed away during my senior year (1989), your loving attention made the pain bearable. Soon my son will attend TCS as a kindergartner; he is looking forward to it after our recent visit.

If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!

- Psalm 66:18-20

Sergeant Gregory Fowler Awarded Army Commendation Medal - Class of 1988

Sgt. Fowler Update
Greg Fowler was sent back to the United States for medical reasons. He suffered a serious case of heat exhaustion and is currently on medical leave. Please pray that God will heal his body and that He will lead Greg in the next step in his military career. His case will be brought before a Medical Review Board to determine if he will be able to continue in active duty.

Printed in the Piscataway Newspaper
“About Our Town” - Volume 11, # 3
Army Sergeant Gregory W. Fowler has been decorated with the Army Commendation Medal for supporting the mission of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
The medal is awarded to individuals who, while serving in any capacity with the Army, have distinguished themselves by acts of heroism, meritorious achievement or meritorious service.
Enduring Freedom is the official name given to the biggest U.S. military mobilization since the Gulf War in 1991. Members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces have been deployed and reserve components activated to support the war against global terrorism, combating the international terrorist network or regime forces outside of the United States.
The Sergeant, a senior carpenter with 12 years of military service, is currently assigned to the Bravo Company, 92nd Engineer Battalion at Fort Stewart, Hinesville, Georgia. This is his fourth combat tour. An example of his work is the doors that he designed and built for an enemy Prisoner of War building in Afghanistan.
He is the son of Wayne K. and Olive M. Fowler of Sunburst Lane in Piscataway, and is a 1988 graduate of Timothy Christian High School, Piscataway, NJ. The Fowlers have two other sons who are TCS Graduates: Glenn (1991) and Grant (1997).

Kevin Thyne's Reserve Unit Called to Active Duty.
TCS graduate Kevin Thyne and thousands of other Army reservists have been called to active duty. For the past few months Kevin's Army Reserve Unit in Baltimore, the 442nd Quartermaster Company, had been put on alert for possible deployment. On January 27 that became reality as he and dozens of other reservists were assigned to the 442nd left for Fort Drum, N.Y.   Kevin was due to ship out to the Middle Eastern neighborhood on February 8.
According to his parents, Chuck and Heather Thyne, Kevin is very proud to put his academic life on hold for the opportunity to be a part of Operation Enduring Freedom. “He had mounds of paperwork to complete, along with more shots than the human body should allow.  I'm not sure of all the things he is now immune to, but I do know he received a series of anthrax shots, among others,” his father said.
Kevin was in his 2nd year at Rutgers-Camden, where he is majoring in Political Science.  He hopes to maybe someday get his Law Degree.  He was, and at some point again will be, active with Campus Crusade.  Kevin also was a “pioneer” with the school Crew team which competed for the first time in RUC history last fall.  He is a member of ROTC, contemplating a military career upon graduation.
Their mission will be to bring portable shower units and laundry facilities to the soldiers in the field.  He will caravan around in 15 person units to accomplish this.  While in the caravan, Kevin, just promoted to Specialist, will be manning a 50 caliber weapon that is mounted on one of the vehicles.
Kevin's parents have entrusted him to God's care during this ordeal. “We are comforted knowing that Kevin is protected not through the finest military in the world, but by our Lord and Savior”, said his dad.  The most important gift that anyone can give our military personnel involved with this mission is PRAYER.

Major Steven Katz, part of the Army Special Forces, has been in the military for about 17 years. His daughter, Cassandra, attends 4th grade at TCS. He has about 32 men under his authority. Of these men, the youngest is 20 and two of the men's wives gave birth to their first babies just recently.

Because Steven is part of the Special Forces, there have not been many updates lately. Since 9/11, Steven has not been stateside very often. He had been in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and went off to the Middle East in mid-March. His wife, Aixa, asked for prayer for him and other military families. She especially expressed concern for the stress and difficulty caused by the separation experienced during times of war.

Lance Cpl. Thomas Conroy - Class of 2000 Lance Cpl. Thomas Conroy, Chemical warfare specialist, holds a pigeon used to help detect chemical attacks.
Lance Corporal Conroy is currently serving with the Marines. In the summer of 2001 his parents and two younger siblings (who also attended Timothy) moved to California. Tom was enrolled at the University of Massachusetts, but after 9/11 felt led to join the Marines. He joined the Marine Corps in March 2002, completing his Basic Training in San Diego.Tom had a strong desire to sign up for “NBC” training, which is specialized instruction concerning nuclear, biological and chemical warfare. This training, lasting for 6 months in Missouri, taught him and others how to identify these weapons, and the appropriate treatments and antidotes for those exposed to these weapons. One of Tom's main jobs was to prepare his battalion concerning “NBC” attacks, including the injection of antidotes and the use of gas masks and protective suits. Right now he is part of the 1st Marines Division, 3rd Battalion. He was shipped out in early January, and his family last received an update from him in late February.
